The closest fields to Braintree
From Braintree, our nearest field is at Colne Engaine, across country towards Halstead and Earls Colne. It is a rural field on Mill Lane with views over the Colne Valley, 4ft fencing, a field shelter and picnic bench and car parking. See the Colne Engaine field.
Head east along the A120 and you reach Eight Ash Green on the edge of Colchester: a fully enclosed field with 6ft fencing, a double gate and a sheltered bench. See the Eight Ash Green field.
From Witham, Silver End, Rivenhall and Coggeshall, both sites are a straightforward drive. Sessions at both are 55 minutes, £13 on weekdays and £15 at weekends.
For dogs who find public walks hard
Many of the dogs who visit us are reactive, anxious or getting older, and their owners want a walk with no surprises. Others are young dogs learning recall, or working breeds who simply need to run flat out. A private field gives every one of them space, without the stress of wondering what is round the next corner.
Before your first visit
Check the fence height of the field you book, especially if your dog can clear a gate. Bring water, and a long line if recall is new. Arrive a few minutes early so you are ready to go through the gate as your slot starts.

We have a dog who lunges at anything that moves. Foxes Farm Fields has been the only place in Essex where I've been able to watch her actually be a dog. The difference in her after a field session is remarkable.
Which field suits your dog?
If your dog is a jumper, choose Eight Ash Green with its 6ft fencing. If they love to explore at a gentle pace, the countryside setting at Colne Engaine suits them well. Want more variety?
