Private Dog Agility Field in Essex

Some dogs don't just want a run. They want a job.

If your dog is clever, bouncy or easily bored, a normal walk barely scratches the surface. You want something that tires out their body and their brain, somewhere you can both relax.

Dunton Road Paw Patch Dog Field

What gets in the way

The bored dog. Without something to think about, energy turns into chewing, barking and pacing at home.

The busy class. Group agility classes can be a lot for reactive or nervous dogs, with other dogs close by and a set pace to keep up with.

The pavement loop. The same lead walk every day does little for a dog who needs to use their brain as well as their legs.

The Paw Patch at Great Bromley

We know that feeling. It's why we fenced our first field for our own dog, Fudge, in 2019.

The Paw Patch is a private, 6ft fenced field on Hilliards Road, Great Bromley, near Colchester, with over 8 agility obstacles including tunnels, a seesaw, hurdles, weave bars and jumping hoops. There's car parking, a field shelter and open farmland views.

The field is yours alone for the session. Go at your own pace, try the obstacles you fancy and skip the ones you don't.

How it works

  1. Book the Paw Patch online.
  2. Open the gate and unclip the lead.
  3. Explore the obstacles together at your dog's pace.

Sessions on the Paw Patch are 55 minutes, £13 on weekdays and £15 at weekends.

Who it's for

  • High energy and working breeds.
  • Dogs who get bored easily.
  • Reactive dogs who would struggle in a group class.
  • Owners practising at home between classes.

If your dog is young, older or recovering from an injury, check with your vet before trying agility.
