Dog Walking Fields Near Saffron Walden, Essex

Our nearest fields to Saffron Walden

We do not have a field in Uttlesford yet, so we will be straight with you: our closest sites are a drive away. From Saffron Walden, head for the A120 and east towards Colne Engaine near Halstead, or on to Eight Ash Green on the edge of Colchester.

For a dog who never gets off the lead on local walks, a regular session can be well worth the drive. Book a 55 minute slot, let them run, and they go home tired and content.

What you get when you arrive

At Eight Ash Green, a fully enclosed field with 6ft fencing, a double gate and a sheltered bench. At Colne Engaine, a rural field with 4ft fencing, Colne Valley views and a field shelter and picnic bench. Both have car parking, so you go from the car to the gate without passing other dogs. Sessions are 55 minutes, £13 on weekdays and £15 at weekends.

Who books a private field

Owners of reactive and nervous dogs, rescues still settling in, puppies learning recall and older dogs who are happiest with space and quiet. Read our tips for reactive dogs in a private field before your first session.

Planning your trip

Check availability before you set off and pick a time that misses the school run. Bring water, a towel for wet days and a long line if recall is still a work in progress. Then go through the gate, shut it behind you and let them run.
